Abstract
Culinary micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Gemba Village (Waimital) still market their products through Facebook groups, a platform that was never designed for trading: it provides no product catalogue, no structured description or price, and no facility to add, edit or delete offerings, so buyers receive incomplete information and sellers cannot maintain their products. This study develops Rasa Gemba, a customer-to-customer (C2C) mobile e-commerce application built with Flutter and Firebase for local culinary MSMEs, relying on direct in-app chat and cash payment without courier services. Development followed the Waterfall model through analysis, design, implementation, testing and maintenance. Requirements were obtained from field observation and interviews with three culinary MSME owners, and the design was modelled using UML use case, activity and class diagrams. Testing combined black box testing of ten functional scenarios, each executed ten times, with a user acceptance test involving twenty respondents and a five-point Likert questionnaire. All functional scenarios passed and user acceptance reached 88%, categorised as very good. Rasa Gemba therefore provides a simple and low-cost digital channel that fits the cash-based transaction habits of rural communities.
