Android-based Cultural and Tourism Recognition Application for Maluku (Ambon),

Abstract

The cultural richness and tourism potential in the Maluku region (Ambon), including language, traditional ceremonies, religion, Ambonese ethnicity, dances, local festivals, and tourist destinations such as Halasi beach, Hukurila beach, hot springs, Immanuel's old church, Batu Kapal beach, Siwang Paradise, Paragliding Hill Talaha Tihu, and several other attractions, are valuable assets that require effective preservation and promotion efforts. This research aims to design and implement the Cultural and Tourism Recognition Application for Maluku (Ambon) based on Android as a solution to preserve cultural heritage and promote the allure of tourism in the region.

The application provides rich and interactive information about the history, cuisine,culture, arts, festivals, and various tourist destinations on Ambon Island. Cultural boundaries encompass these elements, while tourist destinations involve beaches, historical sites, and other tourist areas. The research methodology includes literature review, needs assessment, system design, implementation, and evaluation, with the application designed using Java programming language and Android Studio.

The result of this research is the Android-based Cultural and Tourism Recognition

Application for Maluku (Ambon), expected to assist in preserving and promoting the cultural richness and tourist destinations in the region. In the context of limitations, the research also faces various challenges, including issues in cultural preservation, sustainable tourism management, and efforts to enhance public awareness of local heritage and tourism potential. The application is anticipated to provide added value by expanding the understanding and appreciation of these aspects among the community.
